Application
Application of 87784 AZ Wearable WBGT, Heat Index
Meter:
The 87784 AZ Wearable WBGT HI Checker can measure the air temperature, globe temperature, heat index temperature and humidity to give heat stress index for using in control of physical activity in hot environment to limit the danger of heat related injuries.
The Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) was developed as a monitoring basis at US military training camps and became widespread for the use in workplaces and sports situations.
The WBGT is a measure of the Heat Stress in direct sunlight.
The heat index was developed by the US National Weather Service to help people avoid heat illness. Prolonged exposure and/or physical activity at a high heat index is likely to lead to sun stroke, heat cramps, heat exhaustion and even death.
However, please be aware that heat index is not an exact science. The values reached are approximations. Ultimately, the final decision of whether or not to exercise or work belongs to the individual, athletic trainer or employer…
It is suggested in an international standard ISO 7243 and many governments such as OSHA (US Occupational Safety & Health Administration), SMA (Sports Medicine Australia) and Japan Society for Occupational Health in establishing the permissible heat exposure limits in occupational health, sports or other physical activities.
The applications of the heat index can be in construction, iron and steel foundries, bricks-firing plants, glass facilities, boiler rooms, mining sites, army training, marathon, beach activities and so on.
The 87784 AZ WBGT Heat Index Meter has a small black ball, which could be carried easily. And the small black ball has a specific angle, so you would not need to worry about human temperature affect the meter’s accuracy. The measurement by 87784 AZ WBGT HI Checker could be a good element for monitoring the outdoor activities and Prevent people to get Heat Stroke.
AZ 87784 wearable WBGT +Heat Index Checker was being designed and manufactured by AZ Instrument, a well experienced manufacturer for Environmental Measuring.

FAQ
【FAQ of 87784 AZ Wearable WBGT Checker】
Q1: What parameters does the AZ 87784 WBGT Heat Index Meter includes?
A: 87784 AZ wearable WBGT+HI checker simultaneously monitors and displays four key metrics: Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT), Heat Index (HI), Air Temperature, and Relative Humidity to provide a complete heat stress profile.
Q2: Why does the AZ 87784 WBGT Heat Index Meter include both Heat Index and WBGT?
A: To provide comprehensive 2-in-1 protection for both shaded and sun-exposed environments. While WBGT is the professional standard for outdoor operation, the Heat Index remains the most recognized metric for indoor and shaded heat safety in the USA and Canada. Including both ensures the device is compliant with OSHA guidelines and remains user-friendly for workers who are accustomed to standard weather service heat warnings.
Q3: What are the primary professional applications for the AZ 87784 WBGT Heat Index Meter?
A: The 87784 AZ wearable WBGT+HI checker is designed for high-demand environments, including:
*Occupational Safety: Monitoring heat stress at construction sites, steel mills, and warehouses.
*Sports & Athletics: Ensuring athlete safety during marathons, triathlons, and outdoor practices.
*Military Training: Protecting personnel from heat exhaustion during intense field exercises.
*Agriculture: Monitoring environmental conditions for outdoor field workers.
