Q1: Is AZ 88170 compliant with FDA 21 CFR Part 11?

A1: AZ 88170 does not require any proprietary software to operate or generate reports. Since no software is used throughout the configuration, recording, or data retrieval process, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 software validation is not applicable to this product.

 

Q2: Why must the cap be tightly sealed and the O-ring replaced regularly?

A2: If the cap is not properly tightened, high-pressure steam can enter the device. After cooling, the steam may condense inside the housing and cause moisture-related damage or short circuits on the circuit board.
For this reason, the cap must be securely tightened before use, and the O-ring should be inspected and replaced regularly to maintain proper sealing performance.

 

Q3: Can 88170 be used for autoclave validation?

A3: Yes. 88170 is suitable for autoclave validation.

Important Maintenance Notes:

Replace the O-ring periodically to prevent seal degradation from repeated high-temperature and high-humidity cycles.

If moisture ingress is suspected:

Remove the battery and open both end caps.

Bake the logger at 70°C for at least 4 hours to remove internal moisture.

Install a new battery and replace the O-ring.

For frequent autoclave use:

After every 1–2 cycles, bake the logger at 70°C for about 1 hour to extend product life.
